Claire is currently at the London College of Communication studying for a Masters of Photography after successfully completing a Foundation Degree in Professional Photography with Distinction.

She started her photographic career after several years in Consumer Research & Brand Strategy for a leading multinational company.

This interest with people & their relation to broader cultural trends drives how she now approaches her photographic projects. She diligently researches and then embeds herself in the community of interest like a visual ethnographer. Endlessly fascinated by the individuals she meets, she seeks to involve the viewer in that incredible reality rather than sensationalise.

Having recently returned ‘home’ to England after a long period abroad she finds herself no longer a native but somewhat of an outsider.

The outsider’s wider perspective brings into clearer focus the ‘hidden in plain view’ established rituals, codes and networks of power that weave our cloth of national identity and give an individual a sense of belonging.
